Protein - The Facts


The Primary function of Protein is to support Growth, maintain, and repair tissue, and help regulate the amount of fluids in the body.

It is fundamental to the success of your training to choose a good source of Protein, The more poor Protein you eat, the harder it will become to pack on Muscle Gains.

Since the 1940’s there has been an explosion in the number and variety of Protein Supplements available. Modern advances and increased knowledge have resulted in basic protein’s(egg and casein) being left behind in favour of protein supplements containing Amino Acid’s, to aid Muscle Growth and Hormone balance.

During periods of intense activity such as exercise, Protein loss is accelerated to a staggering 94%, Unless you replace this Protein, your performance and Muscle development will suffer.

• Everyday bodily functions - 0.8Lbs of protein per KG of body weight
• Endurance training - 1.4 – 1.8 Lbs of protein per KG of body weight
• Strength training – 1.7 – 2.2Lbs of protein per KG of body weight
EG. Someone weighing 80kgs would need 64lbs of protein for daily bodily functions
